"Guy Fawkes Day Show"

A Night of Fire Friday, November 5, 1999

A.C.E. celebrated this bizarre holiday commemorating England's most notorious traitor.

The only known surviving photo of the Guy Fawkes Day Show 1999.

The King
The King
The King must die
Twelve men were traitors, one was named Guy.

It was a time in England
Of fear and hiding
In 1605, theses men were confiding.

To kill the King with one mighty blow
His oppression.
His tyranny.
All had to go.

In the basement of Parliament,
Slowly but sure.
Barrels of gunpowder were part of the cure.

Blow it sky high!
They agreed was the way.
Blow it sky high!
November fifth was the day.

The King and his minions would parish in flame.
But the King did find out!
He knew Guy Fawkes was to blame.

Their hopes of vindication
Began to fade
With a knock at the door,
They'd been betrayed.

Twelve men in chains.
Twelve men in locks.
Twelve men involved,
But we remember Guy Fawkes.

He was hanged.
He was quartered.
Just like each friend.
And a burning at the stake
Brought their plot to an end . . .

So,

Remember,
Remember the fifth of November,
Gun powder, treason and plot.

We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
